This story takes place in contemporary Speyside, Scotland, the heart of the whisky distilling industry. A hot, young, red-headed Scottish whisky executive secretly lusts after his beautiful but older personal assistant. The young Dom, Calum Dalguise, has wanted his assistant, Fiona Macleod, for years. Believing the twenty years between them to be too great a span, Fiona never let on that she has pined for him in return.
After reviving the family distillery business, Calum is suffering from boredom. He decides he needs a new challenge and determines to start a secret BDSM club named Red in the bowels of the old distillery building. When knowledge of the club is obtained by an unscrupulous party, danger and misunderstandings ensue, culminating in murder. Will the secret club be revealed causing the ruin of reputations and the newly solvent business, or will Colum and his friend, Ruari Jamieson, save the day?
I loved the sexy Scottish names and the glimpse into the whisky distilling business. The slightly older heroine gives us all hope for a happy ever after with a hot, young stud. The sex is hot, the whisky is smooth, and the story is good. My only criticism is that the story was over too soon—so I guess I’ll have to wait for the next one!
– Recommendation: Buy!

4.0 out of 5 stars More Vanilla with a twist…, November 23, 2014

Red Is For Danger is a nice quick little read. The genre claims it to be BDSM but it is more Vanilla with a lil twist in my opinion. Yes there is a BDSM room, spanking and clips are involved but that is about it. This is mild compared to some of the BDSM Books that I have read. I’m not sure if the next ones in the series will ramp it up or what.I wish there had been more to the story (as in the length). The story content itself was good but I wanted more. It had sex, mystery, revenge and murder but the reveal was sort of anti climantic.I’m not sure that I would really call this a romance either…This is story about a cougar/young stud that’s have the hot for each other for years and finally decide to do something about it in a DOM/sub way.Would I recommend this book? Yes, if you like a lil kink in your read.

Would I read more from this author? Yes, I want to see where this story line ends up.

This was a different read for me, I have never read a cougar type book before, and it was definitely interesting! Fiona is a sweetie, always there to do her bosses bidding all the while having a major crush on him for years. Calum is the young owner who brought his familys failing whiskey business back to the top. Now focusing on what he wants, he aims to open a BDSM club with a fellow DOM. I was expecting a bit more BDSM, this was more vanilla with some spanking and a single scene with clamps. He promises more, I do want to read the next in the series to see if she gets more into the BDSM scene. There was some suspense, that was not too much to handle for this story. It flowed well and I look forward to the greater depth of the characters in the coming books. It was also a great short read.

This was a really quick and easy read. The story wasn’t exactly what I expected, from the description I thought the suspense would be a bigger part of the story and that the sex would have a little more kink than it it. While it had some aspects of BDSM, it really didn’t explore that world deeper than spanking and giving commands. The suspense didn’t enter until later in the story and really wasn’t tied to anything that you previously read in the story, it kind of came out of nowhere. Although it wasn’t what I was expecting, it was still an enjoyable read, and well written. I plan to read the next story in the series as I’d like to see how things work out. Maybe the author will take the BDSM theme a little deeper.

This was a quick read, but as smooth as fine whiskey and as hot as a day in July. I loved Fiona and was very excited that she was a cougar, but not an over the top cougar. Calum is a hot young executive who has brought his family’s business back from the dead and turned into a very successful one. Now that he has completed that he missed the adventure and soon turns to working on his wants which include the lovely Fiona and some training. This was well written and I loved the underlying suspense in it. It is a quick read to help melt the winter chill away.

A Quick and enjoyable afternoon read that was well written. I haven’t read many cougar style stories and liked that it wasn’t the main focus of the story choosing to concentrate on Callum and Fiona’s Dom/Sub relationship. I’m hoping De Lune might delve into their history (as well as the other characters) a little more in the next book as it just felt like something was missing. I found myself wanting more to the story with the suspense towards the end so it will be interesting to see where she takes this . Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Red is for Danger is a fantastic quick steamy read. It was my first “cougar” type book, and it wasn’t at all what I expected (in a good way) although the “oldies talk” did come out in a conversation Fiona was having her sister, it didn’t stand out at all through the book. There was a bit of suspense thrown in, which made it even better. Can’t wait for the next book in the series 🙂 I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a steamy read with might BDSM
